AFT National Day of Action to Save Public Education

Philadelphia public schools
United States

Benjamin Hover

AFT locals across the country will join with elected officials and community leaders to stand up against the Trump-Musk assault on public education. On March 4th, join us in a day of action to Protect Our Kids.

Ways to get involved:

  • Hand out informational leaflets to school families and community members as students arrive in the morning and leave in the afternoon
  • Join PFT members, School District of Philadelphia leaders, elected officials, and school families for a rally and press conference at Widener Memorial School (1450 Olney Avenue)
  • Contact your members of Congress and tell them: No cuts to public education!

See your building or union rep for flyers, or download and share from Google Drive. Our school communities need to know that:

🚨 The Trump administration’s plan to gut the U.S. Department of Education and slash federal funding would devastate millions of students—especially those in underserved communities. 🚨

If enacted, these cuts would:

❌ Strip 26 million vulnerable kids of critical educational services.

❌ Deny 7.5 million students with disabilities the special education support they need.

❌ Make college unaffordable for 10 million working-class families by slashing Pell Grants and student loans.

❌ Cut career and technical education for 12 million students, threatening their job opportunities.

It's time to fight back! 💪

We are calling on parents, teachers, friends, and neighbors to:

✅Mobilize locally to defend public schools and the vital services they provide to kids and families.

✅Urge federal representatives: Don’t cut kids for tax cuts—oppose education funding cuts and block grants.

✅Push state leaders: Say NO to block grants and NO to cuts in federal aid for schools.

Together, we can protect our kids and fight for their future! ✊
